Our League Cup campaign got off to a strong start with a convincing victory over Dunstable in the first round, as four goals and a clean sheet secured our place in the next stage of the competition.
With the game still goalless at half-time, we came out after the break ready to make our chances count, and it didn’t take long before they did. First on the scoresheet was Iesha Swaby, who capitalised on an opposition error to open the scoring, giving us the advantage we needed to settle into the second half.
From there we continued with momentum, with Isla Callison beating several defenders inside the box to find the back of the net and double our lead. Brooke Haylock then made it three, finishing off an outstanding long ball from Juliet Thomas.
Continuing her strong performance, Swaby completed her brace with a powerful strike into the top left corner, rounding off an excellent attacking display.

Thomas was named Player of the Match following another impressive display. A faultless defensive performance helped us keep Dunstable at bay, while her quality assist added to an excellent afternoon for the defender. It’s been another strong run of performances from Thomas this season, and she continues to make her mark at both ends of the pitch.
A special mention to Adonai Mpungu, who made her First Team debut. Mpungu helped the team to our first clean sheet of the season with some exellent defensive contributions.
With the first round behind us, we travel to Brentwood Town on 25th October in the next round of the League Cup.
