Atlético London Close Out UNBEATEN 2026 WITH A DRAW in Norfolk

On Sunday, our first team travelled to Norfolk for a final-day showdown with Wroxham, with both sides still firmly in the hunt for second place. The reverse fixture ended all square earlier in the season, and there was little to separate the teams once again. In a competitive, end-to-end encounter, neither side could find the breakthrough, and the points were shared once again to bring the campaign to a close.

It was a lively start from both teams, each looking to settle and take control early on, but it wasn’t long before the deadlock was broken by none other than Brooke Haylock, who made the breakthrough after just 22 minutes. Julia Casinha spotted the run, threading a perfectly weighted pass through, allowing Haylock to cut inside and finish confidently, clocking her 40th goal of an outstanding season.

From there, the game settled into a competitive rhythm, with little to separate the sides, though Wroxham looked increasingly dangerous from set pieces. The pressure continued to build, and that threat eventually paid off just before the break, as a corner delivery was turned home to bring the sides level at half-time.

The second half took a while to find its flow and was briefly interrupted by an unexpected hailstorm, pausing the game for a short time. Once play resumed, both sides pushed forward, but clear-cut chances were hard to come by, with neither goalkeeper overly tested in the final 45. It was a hectic closing stage to end the game, with penalty appeals at both ends, but with nothing given, the game finished level after a demanding afternoon for both teams.

There’s plenty to be proud of, not just from this performance but also from the way the group has grown across the season. To finish unbeaten in 2026 is a real reflection of the consistency and character within this squad.

The result marks the end of the 25/26 season, with final league positions still to be confirmed as results come in elsewhere. Attention will soon turn to pre-season, but not before a moment to recognise the effort behind the scenes. A huge thank you goes to the players, coaches, staff, families and supporters for their continued commitment and backing throughout the season; it doesn’t go unnoticed.
