Atlético London Academy - An Exciting new chapter

We are pleased to announce the launch of the Atlético London Academy, an exciting new chapter in our commitment to developing girls’ and women’s football. 

Since the club was founded, our goal has always been to provide a clear and supportive pathway for female footballers, and after a successful first year, we’re launching our Academy. While our Youth teams provide grassroots, entry-level environments where players can learn and enjoy the game, the Academy represents the next stage of that pathway, offering a more structured and challenging environment for ambitious young players looking for accelerated development.

Designed for girls aged Under 9 to Under 15, the Academy represents the next stage of our vision, offering ambitious young players a structured environment in which they can learn and continue to enjoy their football journey. 

We currently operate an Under 14 side, bridging that gap between grassroots football and senior-level competition. Players train twice per week as part of a structured development programme focused on technical and tactical understanding, as well as the physical demands of the modern game. Sessions are designed to challenge players, build confidence and help them develop a deeper understanding of football within a positive and enjoyable learning environment. 

Our Academy teams compete in the Junior Premier League (JPL), providing regular opportunities to face strong opposition and experience a high standard of competition. This experience allows players to apply and further develop their skills, whilst also gaining match confidence and understanding of the game week after week. 

More than just developing players, the Academy is about creating a long-term pathway. We want every player who joins the club to feel supported throughout their journey, whether their ambition is to progress into senior football or to enjoy the game whilst reaching their potential. Our goal is to nurture confidence and enjoyment at every stage.

As our pathway continues to grow, we aim to expand our Youth and Academy teams further, creating opportunities for more girls to join and progress in football. This is an exciting venture, and we welcome all interested volunteers and UEFA-qualified coaches to help us build this next stage of development.

Open trials are running across June in North London and Hertfordshire, with flexibility on dates if those don't work for you:

As our pathway continues to grow, we aim to expand both our Youth and Academy programmes, creating opportunities for girls at every stage of their football journey.
